Holy Week 2020

Welcome to our services for Holy Week and Easter. This year we take as our focus the Gospel of St John, and we imagine the week through the eyes of Mary, the sister of Lazarus and Martha, whose house in Bethany is the focus of many of the events immediately preceding Holy Week.

In John’s Gospel the week leading to Jesus’s crucifixion and his resurrection take up half the Gospel. Within that a large part is taken by the speeches of Jesus during the Last Supper.
